Summary: Bed Bugs:(Beautiful location and property with an older house. Owners were great with communication when we were there. Unfortunately during our stay we got many bed bug bites and had to leave early. To the owner’s credit, she was very sympathetic and responsive when we informed her, and we do feel compassion for them having to deal with this in their rental. However we found out when vacating that they tried to have them exterminated three times prior. We wish we had known about the ongoing issue beforehand, as we would have cancelled. It put a damper on what would have been a wonderful trip and beginning of summer. We spent a week treating all of our items ensuring we did not bring them back into our own homes. It was quite stressful. We did end up eventually getting a full refund but that also felt like a lot of work and stress working with VRBO to get the refund (the owner was in full support). This is clearly a tough situation and the owner is trying to resolve it, but at the time of our visit the problem had not been fully eliminated. Once the issue is fully resolved, this would be a fantastic place to stay.
