Only 2 hours from Toronto: guests will enjoy stunning lake / sunset views from 1 of 3 outdoor seating areas; lake swimming via shallow shore or deeper dock entry; exploring the bay via canoe, kayak or SUP; relaxing in the hot tub or making s'mores in the firepit. Fully stocked kitchen w/ d/washer, & bbq, makes meal prep & cleanup easy. Be ready to relax!

Our family cottage is a spacious and comfortable retreat, ideal for families looking for a relaxing and fun getaway. Three bedrooms in the main cottage sleep up to six guests, and the outdoor bunkie with bunk beds - at the back of the property - provides additional sleeping space. Please reach out for more information about bunkie sleeping configuration.

There are three outdoor seating areas to enjoy the stunning sunsets and views of Woods Bay. Relax and enjoy an early morning coffee or afternoon beverage from the dock, and in the evening cozy up by the firepit (when permitted by Township fire regulations) to make s’mores and watch the stars. Guests in the primary bedroom can enjoy their morning coffee on the deck which is directly accessible from the bedroom.

The swimming is excellent, with a shallow entry from the shore that's perfect for kids, and a deeper entry off the dock. Guests are welcome to use the canoe, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards to explore the bay / nearby islands and enjoy the views from the water. Unwinding in the hot tub is a great way to end the day.

Our kitchen is fully equipped – with a dishwasher - and an outdoor barbecue is provided. For those who want to stay connected, high-speed internet and a smart TV are included. Guests can use laundry facilities with both a washer and dryer.

We are located near a public boat ramp and full-service marina for those wishing to bring their own boat. The cottage is surrounded by provincial park - guests can explore some of the area by canoe. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck in the bay (please review appropriate provincial licence requirements).

Up to two friendly house-trained dogs are welcome. Note that the property is not fenced, and there are other dogs on nearby properties. Please ensure your pet(s) are under your control at all times, and please clean up after them.

Please note that the water is from a well and is safe to drink. Stock up on groceries in Mactier (25 mins), Parry Sound (45 mins), Port Carling (40 mins) or Bala (40 mins).

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property and waterfront.

Several indoor small storage areas with our personal items will be not accessible to guests.

A canoe, two kayaks and two stand up paddle boards are available for our guests to use. Some PFD's are provided however we recommend bringing your own to ensure correct fit.

The bunkie is located at the back of the property and suitable for older children sleeping.

Cabin to left of cottage (from driveway) is not accessible to guests.

Please reach out to us if you don't see your ideal vacation dates listed - we may be able to adjust availability. Check in / out is typically Friday - Friday or Saturday - Saturday. For stays shorter or longer than 7 nights please reach out.

1) Please bring Personal Floatation devices: several are provided for the canoe, kayaks and SUP's, however to ensure correct fit (especially for children) we recommend bringing your own.

2) POWER OUTAGES can and do occur in cottage country. We suggest bringing a case of water to have on hand in case of an outage. Lanterns are available for such situations.

3) There is a Foodland, Home Hardware and LCBO in Mactier (20 mins away); Sobeys / Walmart / Home Depot and LCBO / Beer Store in Parry Sound (45 mins away); Foodland / LCBO in Port Carling (40 mins away); and Freshmart / LCBO / Beer Store in Bala (40 mins away) for your grocery and other requirements.

4) Some firewood is provided for the outdoor firepit.

5) Please DO NOT use the indoor wood stove during summer months (June - Sept).

6) Please remove the canoe, kayaks and SUP's from the water after use. They can be pulled up high on the rock outcrop or stored in the lake-side storage frame - this helps avoid damage.

7) Should you wish to explore renting a boat or seadoo for use during your vacation, please contact The Cove in Mactier. Moon River Marine does NOT rent watercraft.
