Positive: Beautiful location and cottage country vibe. Unique building.

Negative: The rooms were very dated and not up to what I would expect at a Fairmont hotel. The bathroom was extremely small and the sink plug didn’t work as one example. The temperature control was turned off due to the season so no heat or cooling in the room. On our second morning the coffee machine was broken so there was no coffee available. The were some issues with the drinking water as well and we were advised to get our drinking water from water stations set out in the lobby which was a bit concerning as well had a baby with us. The furniture in the common areas was very dated, not very clean or comfortable. Also, there were pesky houseflies in the dining area, especially at breakfast. The cafe has very limited hours so if you need a cold bottled drink or some other necessity you had to drive into town. We had a nice stay however, not nearly up to the Fairmont level of excellence I’m used to.

Summary: Interesting hotel but lacks Fairmont’s excellent service and room.
